Microblading In New Jersey

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a new method of semi-permanent eyebrow enhancement that differs from traditional tattooing. Microblading is also known as Eyebrow Embroidery, Microfeathering, Microstroking, 3D Brows, or Hair Strokes, but they are all the same semi-permanent eyebrow enhancements.

Instead of using an electrical machine, Microblading involves using a pen-like hand tool to deposit pigment into the skin. A “blade” that consists of tiny, short acupuncture needles is used, hence the name “microblading”.

Individual feathered hair strokes are drawn onto the skin by hand, mimicking your real eyebrow hair. The result is the most natural-looking eyebrow tattoo. Your brows will look great 24/7!

Why Mircroblading?

Having thin, uneven, or patchy eyebrows, can be hard. Spending countless hours in front of the mirror, feeling insecure, and trying to fix them just makes your life harder. Microblading makes all those problems go away!

Microblading can be used to fill in sparse areas or bald patches in the brows, darken light or blonde eyebrows, correct uneven brows, define brow shape that fits your face, or create a whole new eyebrow for those with little or no hair. It lasts up to 2 years, doesn’t damage your natural eyebrow hair, and it’s waterproof, sweatproof, and smudge-proof!

More About Microblading in New Jersey

The pigments come in many different colors and can be customized to your skin tone, hair color, and preferences. Before the procedure begins, a consultation will be held and you will be asked about your color and shape preferences. The shape will be drawn on and your artist will ask for your approval.

Microblading is considered semi-permanent makeup because it will fade within a few years and will need touch-ups. As your skin regenerates, old skin cells are shed and fade out the pigment while new skin cells will continue to grow.

One benefit of this is that you have the opportunity to change it up if you would like.. Eyebrow trends come and go and you might want to change your brow shape or color in a few years. Microblading is a great option for people who hesitate to get their eyebrows tattooed because of the fear of permanence.

Another microblading advantage is that the pigment doesn’t stay in your skin long enough to change color from sun exposure. The sun can alter tattoo colors over time, especially with permanent makeup that lasts 10 or more years. Traditional eyebrow tattoo has been known to change to blue, red, purple, or green after several years of UV exposure. However, microblading will just get lighter until it fades completely in a couple of years.

Preparing For Your Microblading Appointment in New Jersey

  • We will minimally take away hair. If it falls outside of our guide, we will clean it up. If you normally get waxed or threaded, do so beforehand.

  • Do not wear makeup to your appointment, if you HAVE TO, wear minimal makeup. You may fill your brows in if you want me to see the look you normally go for.

  • If you have a pimple/blemish in the brow area we must reschedule.

  • If you have an active cold sore we must reschedule.

  • You must stop taking any blood thinners 72 hours before the appointment. The more you bleed, the less the ink will penetrate the skin.

  • No caffeine or alcohol before your session.

  • Come with clean hair, you cannot wash it for a few days.

  • If you use Botox, it is recommended that you come at least 2 weeks after your last appointment.

  • Cannot currently be taking Accutane. (at least a year without use)

Microblading Healing Process

Taking care of your new eyebrows after microblading is extremely important to how your eyebrows will look after they are fully healed.

There is no downtime for Microblading. You can go right back to work and it heals completely in about one to two weeks. However, your brows may be a little tender and swollen for the first two days. They may appear a few shades darker and thicker for the first week because of the scab and minor swelling but no worries it will go away quickly! You will have to avoid getting your brows wet like sweating and being in direct sunlight until they heal. Proper aftercare is imperative. You will not have favorable results if proper aftercare is not practiced. Here are the aftercare steps to follow from Forever Valentine Beauty in New Jersey:

Microblading After Care

Aftercare is general and may vary depending on your skin type. Please read carefully and refer to the website for any questions

  • Keep dry for 7 days

  • After 7 days you may wash your face, including the brow area, with a gentle cleanser

  • Please use a cosmetic wipe or washcloth to clean your face for the first 7 days, avoiding the brow area

  • After 5 days, apply a small amount of grapeseed oil until the scabbing is finished. If it appears shiny, you have used too much

  • Do not apply lotions directly to your brows, this may affect strokes and color

  • Refrain from picking scabs, allow them to flake off on their own

  • Certain medications and medical conditions can affect your healing and results

  • Once scabbing has finished, you may use powder makeup on your brows. If you use makeup too soon the chemicals may interfere with the healing process

  • Avoid sweating for one to two weeks. Sweating may affect your results

  • Please note that after the scabbing has healed, strokes may not be visible and color can appear "off". As discussed at the appointment, this is normal. There is no need to worry or email about this, color will pop up over the next few weeks. It can take up to 8 weeks to see the true color.

  • Also, note that this is a multi-step process. The first appointment, in some cases, is just for laying the template. Fading and spottiness are completely normal and have no bearing on how you will heal after the second appointment. Pigment layers with each appointment. Any additions or adjustments will be made at your second session

  • Please adhere to all before-care steps and be on time for your touch-up session.

  • All of our artists are currently booked for months out. If you cancel your 8-week touch-up session, there may be additional fees.

  • If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, it will be canceled. Your booking fee will not be refunded and a new appointment time can not be guaranteed

Microblading FAQ

  • Microblading can last anywhere from 10 months to 3 years depending on your skin type, activities, and aftercare. Oilier clients may not hold onto the pigment as well. Everyone will respond to the procedure differently, we cannot guarantee your results.

  • In most cases, we can discuss this at your first appointment. If you would feel more comfortable you may send me a photo of your brows prior to the appointment and we may discuss your questions/concerns. You may show us a photo of how you fill them in that way we can see what you like, but also assess what needs work and what does not need work along with your skin’s undertone. We will draw a shape onto your brows and we will choose the color together before the procedure starts. If needed, we will clean up the brows outside of the outline we choose however if you normally get them waxed, threaded, etc, please do so before your appointment.

  • When you leave your appointment, your brows will look very bold and MUCH darker than they will end up. Throughout the week the color will fade drastically. Some customers may like that, while others prefer a bold, more structured look. It may appear at times that the pigment vanished-be patient. You may heal "spotty" the first time. In the second appointment, we assess the color, re-evaluate how your skin is reacting to the pigment and make any changes necessary. Additional touch-up appointments may be necessary for customers with very oily skin, problematic skin, darker pigmentation, or customers that did not follow aftercare procedures correctly (see "aftercare"). Microblading requires a minimum of two appointments.

  • It depends! we only work on previously tattooed on microbladed brows case by case. A photo must be emailed BEFORE booking to see if it is something we will work with. Please see pricing in the "artist" section.

If you have previous work and do not send photos for us to approve and you just show up for your app and we cannot do them an additional $100 will be charged to your card for time lost on our end.

We do not “touch up” other artists' work for a touch-up price, it is at least full price!

  • Microblading is soft and very natural once healed. For some that are perfect, but some clients want a bit more. If you want a bolder look and oily or problematic skin, a powder brow may be for you! These things call to be discussed at your appointment!

  • A combo brow is either a combination of microblading and manual shading or microblading with the machine added as well!

  • Pain varies from client to client. While some clients fall asleep others may feel parts of the procedure. We use the best numbing cream to make the procedures as painless as possible!

  • Appointments can be made through the online booking system on this website. When a booking is live, you will see a booking calendar under the booking section. A nonrefundable and nontransferable booking fee is required to make the appointment. There are no appointments made by phone! If you do not see dates, the site is not broken, that just means all dates have been selected and new ones will be released on our next booking day!

All pricing is under the "artist" section!

  • For the booking fee, you may pay with any major credit card. On the day of the procedure, the remaining balance may be paid by cash or credit card.
